We are currently looking for a Lab Researcher Electrochemistry to join the team in Rijswijk .

We are seeking a lab technician to work on the direct electrochemical conversion of CO2 and renewable (bio-based) feedstocks into chemical building blocks.

Main responsibilities

For the project, your tasks will include:

• Setting up and conducting testing programs in the lab using our electrochemistry setups
• Performing sample analysis using techniques such as GC, HPLC, and LC-MS
• Conducting reactor testing with various flow reactor concepts, electrodes, and materials
• Maintaining a logbook to report experimental results
• Supporting the team in research on electrochemical process design and optimization

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

• A BSc degree with an additional 3 years of relevant work experience
• A background in chemistry, preferably with a focus on chemical engineering and analytical techniques
• Experience working in a lab environment, ideally with hands-on experience in electrochemistry, including cyclic voltammetry and preparative electrolysis
• An understanding of the challenges associated with scaling up technology
• Awareness of project management, including planning, deliverables, budgets, and costs
• Basic programming skills in languages such as Python for data processing and reporting are a plus
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written

• A hands-on mentality, comfortable working in a lab and collaborating with a team of researchers
• The ability to work independently in a lab setting, set up measurement equipment for tests, and perform, analyze, and report experiments
• A strong focus on safety and accuracy
• An interest in working on the development of (pilot) systems
• Excellent interpersonal skills and proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders
